February 9, 2014 was the day when the game Flappy Bird was erased from the app stores for good. Although the game was quite annoying but people still interestingly took the courage to play the game and pass through the hardest levels. Once the game was removed, eventually the memory of the frustrating sounds, and smashing started to fade away. The developer of the game Dong Nguyen came up with another game just for the addicts of Flappy Bird. This new game is meaner than the previous one. It is called Swing Copters. You must not expect any ease from the developer. Those, who even have played Flappy Bird for once, would know this well.
There is a character with a copter whom you have to protect from the stuff that is falling on you as you move through the screen. The character wears a propeller hat. There are a few things in the game that are similar to Flappy Bird. You have to tap on the screen in a rhythm to keep your character safe from the bizarre creatures around. The game has the same retro style as Flappy. Now the question is what makes the game difficult? You have to swing from left to right, making your way through the gaps without letting your character collide in the mallets. They keep on swinging like hammers of death.
For a normal person, it is going to take hours to past the first obstacle in the game. There is going to be crashing, burning, and smashing all around. Even after clearing the obstacle, your character might die and you will have to start from the very beginning.
It is going to be hard to even make a high score of 30. You may unlock some avatar outfits for your character, but they won’t change anything about the game. It just keeps the player in false pretense, thinking that he will make through the gaps but when the character comes near, he is smashed.
The developer says the gameplay is simple but that does not mean you can easily make through. It is even annoying than flappy bird. Repetitive games can be great. They keep you interested in playing the game. As you reach a new level, the patterns change. But there is no such shift in the design of Swing Copters. You just keep on slogging upwards. You can play the game as long as you wish to because it is not going to get any better.
If you learn the rhythm of tapping, you can successfully make through a few levels. But that is not going to be easy. Those, who were interested in Flappy bird and those, who finally understood the game play might also understand the gameplay of Swing Copters. However, for many, the game would just be a waste of time and effort because it is not easy at all.
