Last month Electronic Arts was attended the presentation of the Nintendo Switch to announce that FIFA would come to the console. However, the producer did not reveal whether the game was an old version, a spin-off or something else.
Today, however, in an interview Peter Moore, CCO of EA, confirmed that FIFA 18 will arrive on Nintendo’s console/portable. “It will be FIFA 18 and obviously comes to Switch on the release date of the game at the end of the year”, he said.
Electronic Arts describes the version of FIFA 18 to the Nintendo Switch as “custom-built” for the new Nintendo platform, so we can imagine that the game will use the console’s unique features. The game is being developed by EA Vancouver, the same developer of the game for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Moore’s comments also suggest that the game should be released in September, along with the version of the other consoles.
We have to wait to see if the FIFA 18 version for the Switch will really resemble the traditional version of the other consoles or if EA Sports will have to make any concessions for the game to run on less powerful Nintendo hardware.
FIFA 18 will also feature the second season of the beloved Journey mode, which tells the story of player Alex Hunter.
