The developer Avalanche Studios, responsible for Just Cause series and is currently working on Just Cause 3, revealed that the third game of the series will not be released with multiplayer, however, this does not mean that the mode cannot be added after the release of frenetic game.
“Maybe someday we’ll take rich to the modern world of multiplayer” said Christofer Sundberg, co-founder of Avalanche Studios. It is noteworthy that the last game of the series, Just Cause 2, also did not have multiplayer, but this did not stop after several years of the launch of the game, a multiplayer mod was created by the players themselves.
Although not official, free Just Cause 2: Multiplayer Mod was sanctioned by Square Enix, publisher of the game. If it do not come to receive an official multiplayer mode, it’s likely that we will see again an online mode created by the players. To justify the possible lack of a multiplayer mode, the co-founder of the studio says: “Our strength lies in a sandbox experience, and we want to deliver a great experience with Just Cause 3”.
Unfortunately, today’s trend games being released with a multiplayer mode, which often results in online modes without much zeal, only to fill a gap that really should not even exist. The lack of multiplayer means total focus on a single-player experience, which for many games is already more than enough. Just Cause 3 was confirmed last week, and come next year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
